Children’s Faith Formation Volunteer Information for PreK-8th Grade
“Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” ”
Mission Statement
Faith Formation Catechists lead students to a knowledge of Jesus Christ, help them grow in love for Him, instruct them in the ways Jesus teaches us to live a moral life, and model for them how to become His disciples.
Ministry Description
Volunteers 18 years and older must complete an online training seminar entitled CMG Connect, and then pass a criminal background check before volunteering with children or youth.
Faith Formation volunteers must have a genuine love children and desire to help them know, love, and serve Jesus Christ.
Catechists are volunteers who teach or assist in a classroom and other formal settings. All catechists with Holy Rosary’s Faith Formation program must commit to the Church’s liturgical and sacramental life, and obey her moral teachings.
Catechists need a basic understanding of Catholic teaching, Scripture, and Tradition. They should also have a desire to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and to share that relationship with young children.
Catechists will need to:
be present for every session
attend Holy Rosary’s catechist training workshops
Parent Committee:
Share ideas and suggestions; assist in school events.
Provide materials, financial support, or volunteer at school events.
Quarterly meetings: Last Sunday of August, November, February, and May during class time in the Faith Formation Building Kitchen.
We welcome volunteers under the age of 18 years as well to assist in a variety of other capacities. Please contact Sr. Theresa Vu, OP to help determine where the gifts and talents God has given you will best bring joy to the you and the children you will serve.
